Case Study: Punch Taverns, Largest pub company in the UK
Retail systems review and feasibility study
As part of an initiative to explore how the company could bring additional value to the tenants within their pub estate, Punch Taverns wished to evaluate the feasibility of offering a “recommended” POS and back office control system on a low cost operating lease basis.
Harrison McCann prepared a Request For Information and invited a number of potential POS vendors to provide proposals and costings for software, hardware, installation and support. We then supported Punch in their evaluation of these different options by developing objective evaluation criteria for each of the solution components. Our expertise helped them to evaluate the organisational and business implications of retail systems deployment and support in the hospitality industry.
David Rowling, the Information Systems Director at Punch said
" We used the Retail systems expertise of Harrison McCann to quickly evaluate the leading EPOS technologies in the market.
But beyond the technology, they helped us to understand the business implications of retail systems implementation and support; a critical element in delivering a reliable solution for our retail partners in the estate."
